Shades of Black: A Celebration of Our Children ✊🏾| Read Aloud

I love to use the book, Shades of Black- A Celebration of Our Children as a read aloud when I introduce children to the concept that there is diversity among people groups and diversity within groups. I’ve noticed over the years that children who have not been socialized around people from different ethnic groups tend to see them as more similar (visually) than they are. Books like these help describe the differences within groups and celebrate those differences. Check it out!
